@rrhoover@jacobsmith88 As someone who has used this in a coffeeshop, it's a very funny conversation.
Top quality components (e paper screen and mechanical keyboard) unfortunately don't come cheap. Since we are targeting mostly professional writers, having the best components is important and given it is a productivity tool, the cost should be easily outweighed by the time they save while writing.
Speaking of which, this seems ripe for an Dropbox/Uber-style referral program... maybe include discount coupons when the item ships, making it easy for users to hand out to curious on-lookers (offer a discount to the user and the recipient)
I absolutely love this idea, and I'm a huge fan of the founding team!
@iamadamleeb 1. have you personally seen an increase in your own productivity? Beta testers?
2. I love the "beautiful retro design" ... is the product design done in-house? Where did that concept come from?
@jacobsmith88 Having something dedicated is great, especially when you don't have to worry about battery life.
2. Design was all done in-house! The idea was to make an ultra functional device with elements of both retro and my own take on 'futuristic' design
Thanks! My partner and I had spent time using distraction free software but found it too easy to kill. We wanted something more dedicated like a typewriter but without the need to retype docs or worry about losing work.
