Hey, Hunters! Ronald here; I'm the director of content & community at HealthCare.com. Our team has been working hard these past few months to completely revamp our offerings, and focus on creating a user-friendly, easily understandable website around health insurance. Healthcare Is Confusing: From selecting your health coverage option to navigating the costs associated with your health services, everything about the healthcare system in the United States is confusing. Seeing this need for clearer information and increased transparency, HealthCare.com focused on creating an experience aimed at reducing user frustration; we're making it easier for people to find the right healthcare information they need, and explained in ways that make sense. Better-Informed Healthcare Consumers: We've created platforms to help people become better-informed healthcare consumers. Through our healthcare-focused knowledge hub at https://www.healthcare.com/info, we provide articles, longform guides, and graphics that help consumers understand complex health insurance topics in the clearest ways possible. We've also created a Q&A forum where our health insurance experts can help clear up any questions that anyone may have (especially around this health insurance open enrollment period): https://www.healthcare.com/info/.... Through our blog at https://www.healthcare.com/blog, we offer content around current events in healthcare as well as articles on more interesting topics (like why it might be a good health insurance decision to have sex on Valentine's Day). Focused on Good UX: Whether visitors to our site decide to use our search-and-compare engine or simply read through our content, HealthCare.com's goal is to focus on creating a great user experience. At every step, visitors are prompted to "learn more" - from understanding ACA metal tiers to learning how age factors into insurance pricing. It's a work in progress, but we're driven by this desire to make the experience as stress-free as possible. This is a great step in the right direction (in terms of providing more information, access to plans, etc...). However, keep this disclaimer in mind when using this tool (hat off to the team for making it visible and written in non-gibberish lingo) : "HealthCare.com is an independent, advertising-supported website publisher and provides a consumer comparison service. HealthCare.com may earn revenue for leads, clicks, calls and application generated, and may be compensated by its advertisers for sponsored products and services. This compensation may impact how, where and in what order products appear. HealthCare.com does not include all companies or all available products." So the tool is a good exploration tool from the little I tested, but it also has a vested interest in pushing you to some plans (and not necessarily showing all of them, either bc they are too obscure/didn't provide the data, or bc they don't pay, could be either given the language). Keep that in mind when you research for plans and don't rush to buy the first you get on the site ;)
