What do you think? …

Thanks @xikolarico for the hunt! My name is Daniel, I'm the maker of Headset. I've been a music lover since I can remember myself. When I got into coding 6 years ago, I literally couldn't function without my headphones blasting music at me non-stop. That's what kept me focused and energized. I used Rdio and Spotify for a couple of years, but when my financials went up the spout, I had to use YouTube as a free alternative. I quickly realized that YouTube has absolutely everything I was looking for (and beyond), but YouTube is not designed at all to play music, and it drove me nuts. I missed the little things like using the keyboard media keys, building queues, music discovery... In addition, some videos such as EDM are so NSFW that I couldn't actually listen to them at work. 😆 I built Headset to mainly solve my problem. After some research, I found out that I'm not the only one who struggle and decided to turn it into a real product. Currently, it only runs on Mac. Windows/Linux versions will be out soon.

@danielravina Consider introducing a macOS Widget for Notification Center or even collaborating with apps like Silicio http://bolzoneapps.tumblr.com/si... and MiniPlay https://www.producthunt.com/post... for quick access/ controls.

@danielravina that would be awesome :-)

@towhidzaman, HI! We just put out the Windows version here https://github.com/headsetapp/he... It's not on the website yet. I'm sending it out to a few people to try it out. Was wondering if you might want to give it a try? Cheers!
Towhid Zaman
@danielravina Awesome! Thank you so much :-)

Why do I have to register to use this?
Daniel Ravina
@neurohacked It's mainly to put a name on the collections you own, as it's is currently not synced with your youtube account. I've received consistent feedback about this and my plan is to remove the signup wall and make it optional, in case you want to save anything. Will roll this out in the next couple of days.
Patrick Thompson
@danielravina Thanks for the explanation. I definitely wouldn't mind signing up once I've had a chance to try it out but I dislike having to create an account for services just to try them out especially when there's a chance I won't use it again (not saying yours would be one of those).
Daniel Ravina
Hi @neurohacked, I just pushed a new version where you don't need to signup. (cmd+R to reload) Looking forward to hearing your feedback! Cheers.

@danielravina Finally got a chance to check this out today and it's great. Just one question though: How do we add/request new radio stations? I'm mostly looking to add http://radd.it/r/outrun/music, http://radd.it/r/synthwave/music, and http://radd.it/r/futuresynth/music but there are also a couple more I would be interested in. Thanks.
Daniel Ravina
@neurohacked there is no way currently to customize the stations so it's per request. I can add those for you. As this page is getting really big already I'm planning on adding "favourites" feature where it puts all your favourites at the top or alternatively a filter at the top.
