Headlamp places 🔴 markers next to every link, input field, button, etc. As you test, each 🔴 turns into a ✅, so you can easily see what parts you've missed. Collaborate with your team and view charts to see progress.
Hi Product Hunt Nerds!
I'm a cranky web developer, and I got tired of missing head-smacking obvious bugs. To help me consistently ship better apps, I developed a Chrome Extension and named it "Headlamp." It works great for me, so I shined it up, gathered some friends to help, and put it out there for everyone to try.
Headlamp makes bug-hunting fun and easy by marking up your view of the app, logging your test efforts, and showing what you forgot to test.
You can share your markers with the rest of your team and collaborate on a last-minute bug bash, or check the reports to keep tabs on the team's progress and find out what parts of your product need more test coverage.
Headlamp also works with popular test automation frameworks. Use it to find the holes in your automated test scripts.
Headlamp is free to use as a solo tester. When you're ready to spread Headlamp to your whole team like an irresistible but incurable contagion, you'll get to help fund its operation and new features.
Congrats on the launch, I'll give this a try.
Bit late now but feedback on the video would be to show me the value first! The first minute was literally watching you install it :D
@matt_harbord someone just made a new one for me! I've replaced my bad video with his pretty good one.
See how rewarding it can be to procrastinate beyond silly little launch deadlines?
this chrome extension is now baked into my everyday routine. whenever a new or updated website for a client is ready for review, I start a bug test using headlamp. in a very simple, easy-to-use way, it helps me find broken or dead elements on pages and saves me TONS of time. installed instantly and started using immediately. it's my testing team! 100%.
