The Grosure device recognizes items as you throw them away. All you have to do is confirm the items you want on the App, and we’ll deliver them to you.
I was about to comment on a number of unanswered questions (supported stores, more about how it works), but the answers are in fact tucked away in the FAQ page. Would be useful to see some of these listed on the homepage or another page with graphics.
Still curious what kind of technologies are being used for the device, whether it's locally processing images or in the cloud etc.
No mention of being US exclusive, but guessing it is by the product price in $.
The privacy policy (https://grosure.co/pages/our-pri...) still has a lot of placeholders in it ("[[INSERT ANY OTHER PAYMENT TYPES ACCEPTED]]" 😆), and references "Garbican" – which funnily enough has a very similar site (https://garbican.com) also copyright 2020. Was that a previous iteration of the product?
@iamsebj Hi Seb! Sorry for the slow reply, it's been a busy few days 😉. To answer your questions:
- The tech is computer vision, currently we process in the cloud, but we've included enough processing power onboard to do things locally in the future (including background removal, which is a huge focus for us on the privacy front).
-Garbi was the first iteration of the product, back then it was the entire trash can. Grosure is an attachable device, way more convenient!
- For shipping, we are currently locked to the US.
Excellent point about the FAQs, we'll link to those on the front page. We're also building out way more information on the product description page, is there anything else you'd like to see?
@stowe_boyd Long term it will! We're working on an Alexa and Google Home connection that allows you to use voice commands to add items that you haven't thrown away to your shopping list. 😇
