@georgegayl thanks! I tried their app, but somehow I could not get it to work. I think the concept is quite similar. the main differences are that theirs is a web app and Gramophone is a native iOS app. I've kept Gramophone quite simple for now, but it would be nice to offer more personalization options like the Alive Inside app does.
A short description of what the app does:
Gramophone connects a loved one who is suffering from Alzheimer's or dementia with memories from the past by generating a personalized playlist based on their date of birth and country of origin.
Music has been widely recognized to have a therapeutic effect on Alzheimer's patients. Several scientific studies indicate that when patients are exposed to music they used to love, especially between the ages of 13 to 25, this reduces stress, anxiety, and can even improve recall of personal history.
If you have any questions and/or comments. Please let me know!
I like the concept, especially the mission of it. A couple notes, you can now check to see if the person has Spotify and do a quick bounce back between apps so they don't need to login inside of Safari to Spotify. Do you think this might be a better Messenger / bot app? If the point is to provide a friendly experience while making one playlist, you can make a stripped down version inside a chat interface to gain information and quickly export to Spotify. Other than those nits, solid work!
