Goodpalette is a color palette generator specifically built for UI design. It will give you primary, accent, and neutral colors, each with a comprehensive set of shades for text, backgrounds, wells, buttons, and more.
Hi Product Hunt!
There are a lot of color palette generators out there, so why make another one? Here are a few features that I think make Goodpalette stand out:
#1 - Made for UI design
Most color palette generators just give you 4-6 colors. For good UI design, you need really need one strong primary color, an accent color, and neutral colors. For each color, Goodpalette gives you a range of shades from light to dark that you can use for text, backgrounds, buttons, and more.
#2 - Live mockups give your palette context
It’s one thing to look at color swatches on their own, but seeing them in the context of a real application is key. Goodpalette shows a live preview of what your palette would look like on different mockups.
#3 - Easy to export
You can copy and paste directly into your design app of choice (like Sketch or Figma), and easily copy the CSS or SCSS variables.
I really enjoyed the feedback I got for my last project, so I'm looking forward to hearing any comments, feature requests, or bug reports. I hope you like it!
@manutastic this → “It’s one thing to look at color swatches on their own, but seeing them in the context of a real application is key”could be a game-changing feature, however in my opinion, the mockups could use some work before they're actually useful. For instance, the website mockup is essentially monochromatic—the accent color is just a tiny dot next to the “updates” navigation link. How about adding some more color to it? You can try highlighted words, alternating colors for the icons and the buttons, and so on. In addition, more mockups would be helpful.
