Hello Hunters 👋 Like many of you (I assume) I love GitHub, and although they do have a way to view your contributions amongst some other analytics I've found it quite confusing, so i set off to build GitRabbit! I built GitRabbit to help indie hackers boost productivity, track consistency, and make coding more engaging by the ability to compete for a spot on the leaderboards, gamifying development and GitHub activity tracking. Let's elevate our GitHub game together! 🤩 — Mathias

Ohhh so its gonna be like a streak leaderboard?
Mathias Rasmussen
@sentry_co Exactly, a streak/consistency leaderboard where you will be able to compete against other devs:) and possible some other leaderboards as well
André J
@mathias_rasmussen I love the idea! But this will be gamed. Because how will you solve the issue with faking commits? I mean I could fill up my GitHub commits with faked commits going back to the beginning of time. committing 1000s everyday. Here is an example: https://github.com/Erfaniaa/text...

@sentry_co Yeah very true - of course there is a chance someone might do that but i also do feel it would be quite noticeable and I dont think or hope someone who does that would want to spend money on a product just to get on top of a leaderboard / see "fake" analytics hehe. But its a very good point, and ill definetly try to think about a way to handle occasions like this if it was to happen:) Very good point!

@mathias_rasmussen Hacking the GitHub commit graph does not cost money. The problem is, if your streak chart becomes popular, it will be gamed. AS it will be desirable to be top dog. But undesirable if you need to have trillions of commits, at such an event it looses all value. So you will have to figure something out I am afraid. It's like with the PH streak list. It's valuable to be in the top. lots of exposure. Im in #69th And it's a lead magnet like nothing else. People in top 10. Gets probably 10x the traffic I get. You could make it about GitHub stars. That is not gamble at scale anyways.

@norbertjurga Youre so welcome, my man! I'm very glad you like the idea - absolutely loved what you had done and your project and it was a huge inspiration for this one! I definetly will - thank you!
