Hello!! @bellacindy. I am quite impressed with your idea. There are certainly many people out there who don't wear half of the clothes in their wardrobe and cry the entire time that they don't have clothes. This is indeed a very good and useful alternative to reuse and recycle the products. Congratulations for the launch.
@shreya_singh13 Thank you so much, Shreya. you made my day :D In US, each citizen(350M people) send out 70 pounds of textile waste at landfill each year and also even we donate clothing at goodwill or other charities but due to massive production of clothing, 80% of the donation goes to landfill directly. There are some companies that people can sell and buy second hand items but those items have to be in good shape and name brand and everyday wears have no hopes to be used second times. Through our platform which no money is involved and depend on purely exchange or gifting methods we can give second chance to the items to be reused. Eventually we will adopt the block chain tech to measure carbon offset through reusing items and also give incentives (crypto : gift coin) to our users for their good behavior of participating to solve enviromental challenges and also supporting others by giving and sharing. Most of our users will be female and we believe that this is also great way for exposing crypto to women and not left behind to this new development. :D
Thanks again for your kind words :D
Our mission is to reutilize and create value for our users’ second-hand
clothing, deepen human connection, conserve natural and financial resources, and contribute to solving global environmental challenges.
Giftsy is not just a website. It is a movement to solve enviromental challenges include global warming.
Many reuse programs have evolved from local solid waste reduction goals because reuse requires fewer resources, less energy, and less labor, compared to recycling, disposal, or the manufacture of new products from virgin materials. Reuse provides an excellent, environmentally-preferred alternative to other waste management methods, because it reduces air, water and land pollution, limits the need for new natural resources, such as timber, petroleum, fibers and other materials. The US Environmental Protection Agency has recently identified waste reduction as an important method of reducing greenhouse gas emissions, a contributing factor to global warming.
