We've just launched in the City of Toronto, and we're starting with simplifying the rent payment experience. By putting ourselves in the middle of the rent payment relationship, we're able to offer renters flexibility in how you pay rent -- gone are the days of post-dated cheques, you can now choose to pay by Credit, Debit or e-Transfer ... totally free. For landlords, we're able to offer security by ensuring that they get paid rent on time, regardless of when their renter pays. In the unfortunate incident that a renter doesn't pay us, we continue to pay up to 4 months of rent so that landlords don't find themselves out of pocket. I rent month to month. I signed up and they said that I needed to provide a lease to qualify to use the service. So I got my landlord to sign a lease. After all that trouble they said I was ineligible because I told them previously that I didn't have one. So they made me go through that trouble to say no anyways. Terrible service.
Extremely slow support and stupid review process. I made a mistake in the landlord’s information and wanted to correct it but couldn’t find a way to do it, I messaged support and the guy replied to me in a few hours that I need to write an email, so I did. I received a response the next day asking me to provide information that I already included in initial email. After a few days, they finally reset my account and I was able to submit it for review again. 5 days past they requested my lease which I provided and a day more they replied that my apartment doesn’t qualify and they unable to provide further details. Beautiful!
