GermanTech Jobs is the first job board with the goal to bring more transparency, openness and diversity to the German and IT market in general. The goal of this project is to make the job search process for all the IT-techies more enjoyable and efficient.
Hello, everyone!
Excited, but also a bit anxious to make this happen. Everything started as a single-person project with the one goal in mind - bring RADICAL transparency and openness to the IT job market - and now, a small team of very engaged and devoted individuals is trying to make all this possible!
The problem
Do you know this frustration when searching for a software developer job, you have to struggle and dig very deep in order to find something interesting and worth keeping your eye on? You open the job posting, and there is nothing, but a simple description you can't get anything out of. And of course, there is no salary info because ‘’we offer a very competitive pay”.
⛔️ Most of the job postings are actually from recruiters and headhunters that will sell you to whatever company pays the most.
⛔️ The job descriptions are mostly just a random bunch of buzz words. (Charmander Framework anyone?)
⛔️ It is really hard to find important information, like methodologies and tech stack.
⛔️ Zero actual information about the company you plan to apply to and entrust your future.
The solution
The project focuses mainly on transparency and clarity of job postings:
✅ Standardized posting format - you always know what to expect before opening an offer.
✅ Requirement of detailed information from companies: Salary, Technologies, Methodology, Key Requirements, Benefits and Description.
✅ Accessibility of offers - if you are looking for a job in a specific programming language and a particular city (or fully remote position), you can get from the main site to relevant offers in just 2 clicks! ⚡
✅ Precise "Filters" tab - a possibility to specify the size of the company, its type, required languages & tech stack, benefits and experience level.
🗺 It's also hard to miss our interactive map with the locations of all the job postings - this way you don't have to google-map every interesting position. Very proud of that.
The future
Currently, we have almost 1 200 active job postings, and the list is growing day by day 📈 We managed to get over 600 companies on board - even the smaller ones that could not afford to post on the larger job boards.
All this, for Germany only, but we’re also active in other countries:
🇨🇭 SwissDevJobs.ch🇬🇧 DevITjobs.uk 🇷🇴 DevJob.ro
For those interested in only remote positions:
[SwissDevJobs.ch/jobs/all/remote][DevITjobs.uk/jobs/all/remote][DevJob.ro/jobs/all/remote]
We have ambitious plans to expand to even more countries, so we can bring a breath of fresh air to other job markets as well.
Tell us what frustrates you in the job search process, and what we could improve or change. Always happy to hear your feedback.
Thank you! ❤️
A quick note:
This product appears to be local, but it is not - it is just localized and spread on multiple sites:
🇨🇭 SwissDevJobs.ch
🇬🇧 DevITjobs.uk
🇷🇴 DevJob.ro
We also plan a US site and maybe even more countries.
The main goal is to bring a fresh & transparent format to the IT industry, where one can easily find a place to grow their career.
Looks sick! Clear and easy to use.
I've seen some similar projects but none of those in Germany.
The only thing I'd change is add cities to the filters or at least make it so once you choose a city and then choose filters the city choice is still valid. Well you could implement both :)
Regards
Markus
