FungyProof: Verify the quality of non-fungible tokens

👋 Hey Product Hunt! I’m Mike, Co-Founder and Developer at ManyUses® and I’m here to shed some light on NFTs with our new product. We built FungyProof because the media explosion of NFTs –most notably “The Beeple-ing”– has left a lot of people in the dark on WTF a NFT is. The bulk of media attention to date has focused on prices and the cultural aspects of creator ownership and art, while the fundamental concept of an NFT and how they are constructed, has gotten lost in the shuffle. With the hype and massive valuations of these things, we believe it’s important to provide a tool that helps educate people of varying technical knowhow about NFTs while offering more objective means to value the tokens. 👀 How it works right now is fairly simple: 1. Enter a OpenSea URL for an NFT 2. FungyProof pulls down data relating to: Asset Immutability - how the token media files are stored and linked Metadata - how data is formatted, stored, and linked Eco Impact - what blockchain the token is minted on and it’s environmental impact Marketability - how compatible the token is with multiple marketplaces 3. You get a grade from F to A+ based on a simple 0-10 tally of the data. 🌙 Where we go from here FungyProof 1.0 is our first take on this idea. In this early stage, we only pull data from OpenSea/Ethereum as they are currently the largest aggregator of NFTs and provide the most standard data formats to analyze. Moving forward, there will no doubt be a wave of innovation and asset classes that push NFTs well beyond their current iteration and as the ecosystem matures, we’ll continue to refine and iterate based on best practices that solidify. 🌙 How this will benefit participants We think this product can benefit participants by: Helping objectively analyze tokens Contributing to risk assessments Curating assets by grades/quality Continuing to provide education for newcomers Bringing light to best practices for teams/builders 🙌 Let us know what you think 🙌 It’s going to take a lot of knowing what’s wrong to learn what makes an NFT right! @heymakio testnet support is live. Using the new wallet feature you can also connect any evm-based (ethereum) chain through metamask (e.g Matic Artvatars) 🙂
