I put off learning all the notes of the fretboard for years because aside from being time consuming, it was hard to know when I achieved success. The method Tommaso Zillio of Music Theory for Guitar promotes is great because it has a measurable end goal. Fretboard Forever is an interactive app around this method. I can't overstate how much of a game changer having this skill is in terms of musical freedom and as foundation to visualizing the fretboard.
