The product looks great Elliot! Freelance platforms taking a good chunk from our earnings is something every freelancer hates. But how do you make it work if you're not charging anything for the service?
@abeykoshyitty Thanks for the good vibes ! I'll try and monetise it through some (optional) paying features: option for a 'judge' to arbitrate in case of a disagreement on a contract, or integrations with tools like trello, slack and github
@elliot_seror Cool! I don't think charging for tool integrations would be a good idea since it will probably disrupt the overall user experience. Just my thoughts. :)
Another pain point for freelancers is struggling to find work initially on a freelance platform because they don't have any ratings/reviews/work portofolio, etc. I haven't seen any freelance platform solving that pain point.
Hi Product Hunters, thanks a lot for checking out Freelancer Protocol !
🤔The problem
A freelancer and their client wanting to get some work done can either:
- Engage directly. Problem is they won’t have any recourse in case of a bad surprise, like the client not paying or the freelancer not delivering. They also have to adopt custom solutions if they need a contract or invoice
- Go through a freelancing platform: that works but costs a significant fee (10+%). This fee makes sense when the recruiting happens on the platform, but doesn’t if the parties already know each other
🛠My solution
A framework that is fair, simple and free enabling client and freelancer to engage in a standard deal. Its finalisation (deliverable against money) is conditioned to the client accepting a working demo (link or video) of the deliverable.
The framework has basic features, like paperwork generation (invoice & contract) and communication (chat and file share).
