Hey, Product Hunt community! đź‘‹ Even the best of applications experience downtime and incidents. In these situations, it's essential to be transparent with customers. Open and honest communication builds trust and helps with reducing the number of duplicated support requests. If you are a small company, you probably don't want to set up complex automation, bots, and periodic checks to keep your status page in sync with your infrastructure. Enter “Status Page” – a simple way to communicate the real-time status of your application. Status Page also comes with: âś… Status Widget showing the real-time status that you can embed in your app. 📢 Alert Banner that you use to communicate high-priority issues inside your app. Try it out! It's free forever and takes less than 3 minutes to get started.

Congrats for the launch! Pretty cool. How do you feel about entering the market with already some well established companies? Would be curious to hear about your next steps after this launch. All the best.

Hey @julienergan, thanks for the question. Our main goal is helping developers deal with bugs in the simplest way possible. This is why we built Bugpilot - our bug resolution tool (https://www.bugpilot.io). Basically, Bugpilot finds critical user-facing bugs and sends you detailed reports. Along the way, we are building free tools that help devs handle issues in a more effective way.

@krste_rajchevski sounds good, like the approach, thanks for sharing. I imagine the idea to develop Free Status Page and Bugpilot is coming from your own experience. And I assume you were not satisfied with the existing services aiming to solve these pain points. Would be curious to hear your journey. Which products you tried, why there was not satisfactory enough for you and the trigger(s) point(s) which motivated you to build your own solution. Don't get me wrong, it's not about criticizing other products. All have a stronger and weaker points. It's simply to hear your own journey. I find it interesting to listen to builders describing the steps "I tried X, Y, Z but none solved my A, B, C pains, this is why I decided to build {Product}". Congrats again.

@julienergan Thank you for the question. We previously used Sentry in our company, but found it to be excessive for our needs. Our main goal was to be notified about significant issues, however, we were frequently alerted about minor JavaScript warnings that had no relevance to us. What happened is that we ended up ignoring them. Free Status Page is a simple tool that makes it easy and convenient to keep your users updated when things go wrong. We wanted a way to notify our users about a bug without having to monitor our services or set up extensive systems. :)

@krste_rajchevski thanks for sharing the piece about your experience with other products. I like a lot the approaches you took: 1) to think about the relevance of the error and 2) the very customer focus, transparent approach by putting a lot of effort in designing a clear, informative and use friendly message to customers while relieving the burden and noise on dev teams; win-win approach. Let me mention a few people. Free Status Page might be of interest @naoto_shibata_morph @keita_mitsuhashi_morph @shashamo @oginokairan

Love it. Seems a trivial solution but is definitely a common headache between SaaS founders. I don't want to involve my CTO in status front-end, yet it's truly important for our users. Specially in our early stage, where problems and issues arise from everywhere.

Do you use Free Status Page?
