Flytrap is a replay tool that allows you to replay the bugs encountered by users in your own development environment. Unlike alternatives like Replay.io that require additional tooling to catch replays, Flytrap allows you to replay the bugs of ALL users.
The fastest and most detailed tool for fixing bugs
Find the root cause of end-user bugs and reproduce them quickly. Flytrap is a debugging tool that provides developers with all the data, actions and code that ran leading up to the bug.
Hey Hunters!👋
I'm Rasmus, founder of Flytrap.
The initial inspiration for Flytrap came on a trip to Norway. I had created a SaaS tool for reserving tickets to high-demand events, and an event was about to be released. After a while, I got a customer complaint about a payment that had gone through, but the reservation hadn't shown up.
I couldn't reproduce the bug in any way. With over a thousand euros of profit on the line, I was stressing a lot. I ended up fixing the bug after about two hours and a lot of sweating, but the experience left me with an idea. Why isn't there a tool that allows you to line by line reproduce what went wrong with the exact end-user.
So, I decided to build something to fix the problem me (and most fellow developers) face often; fixing tricky production bugs.
With Flytrap you can:
1. See all the data leading up to your bug, intuitively visualised in your own code
2. Easily reproduce the bugs in your local development environment (with the end-user data injected)
3. Find the root causes of bugs quickly and deploy bug-fixes in record time
Getting started is simple:
1. Signup and create your first project
2. Copy/paste the Flytrap config file to your project
3. Build your project and deploy to production
Now you're ready to have the most delightful bug-fixing experience available!
If you've had bad experiences with tooling such as Sentry not being helpful, having useless alerts and struggling to reproduce and fix production bugs, our tool is sure to feel like a breath of fresh air.💨
All feedback on the tool, platform and our approach to debugging is more than welcome, thank you in advance!
Thank you in advance!
