FitUp is an App that helps you to wake up in the morning.
Out of our own experience, all the other approaches like scanning QR codes or solving math problems did not really wake us up. We could scan five codes and still go to bed again. Sounds familiar?
To make sure that you wake up in the morning, you have to do a workout after you wake up and track it with your Apple Watch.
If you fail to wake up, you have to donate money to your favourite organisation.
We know you like flexibility. Therefore you can set all important parameters in in our Iphone and Apple Watch App.
Here they are:
Favourite Organisation:
You can choose from a list of your favourite Organisations to donate money to. Set a default organisation for each new alarm or set different organisations for different alarms. Choose from categories like Climate Action, Poverty, Equality, or Politics.
Penalty amount:
The penalty amount is the amount of money that you have to pay to your favourite organisation if you fail to wake up. You can set different amounts for different alarms. whatever motivates you. Is it allowed to retrieve money without permission?
Good point! In order for us to withdraw money when you fail to wake up, we will ask you to send us your highest penalty amount as a deposit. In case you delete your account or out of any other reason, we will return the money within 5 business days.
Number of Snooze before payment:
You can also set the amount of snooze you allow yourself, before the penalty amount will be donated to your favourite organisation.
Workout Timeframe after Wakeup
You can set the time in which you have to start your workout after your alarm rings. For example you can set it to 10 minutes. This would mean that you need to start your workout within 10 minutes after the alarm rang before we ring again (depending on your snooze settings) or you have to pay.
Workout lenght and Type:
You can choose the minimum lenght of your workout after wakeup as well as the type of workout. Choose either between our collection of YouTube workouts or set a shortcut to your favoutite workout app like Freeletics, Strava or Runntastic. What we will track in the background is your movement as well as your heartbeat. They need to go up within the set time period, in order for you to prove that you woke up.
This project was born as a design navigation module in university. As you might see in the video, it is only a semi.fidelity click dummy at the moment. However, I actually do have the problem of waking up in the morning and I am sure many have too. I am willing to actually find resources to make this app if we can get 100 people on the waiting list.
To make sure you really want it, you need to pay 5€ or do a 30 minute user interview with me. The product in the end will be free though and you will get the money back if the project will not come to fruition.
