Findmeacard.com is a credit card comparison website that lets you specify your spending patterns and preferences and then see the dollar value that every possible credit card reward, perk, and fee would be worth to you, personally.
Hi everyone! I'm Chris Einkauf -- Founder of Find Me a Card.
After many long days and nights spent working under its hood, tweaking reward valuation models, squashing bugs, and iterating my way toward a vision that at times felt impossible to achieve, I'm super excited to introduce Find Me a Card to the Product Hunt community.
I'd love to hear what everyone thinks!
Side note: I'm a solo founder, with no team, on a super-bootstrapped budget (even had to learn how to code along the way, although I did hire some freelancers from time to time for specific technical hurdles), so I'd also be super interested to hear what anyone thinks about possible free ways for me to market the site.
@chris_einkauf So glad someone finally made this! I always thought nerd wallet should have some functionality like this. To me this tool can be the secret sauce of an amazing affiliate marketing website. To me I would immediately add a blog to your site. I would also start a YouTube channel. SEO and organic content will be your friend to start getting some free traffic. If you have any money to invest I would run some youtube ads to your videos you make, and search ads to your blog posts. I spent a long time in the affiliate marketing space so I would definitely lean into that. I know joining credit card programs is a little challenging because the last time I was researching they were wanting you to send them 100 qualified leads a month. But affiliate marketing is super low overhead and most players in the space can't offer this kind of tool to my knowledge.
@kit_fach Thanks -- I'm glad you like it! I'd always thought the same thing regarding "why hasn't NerdWallet or anyone else created something with a little more functionality/customization/quantification/etc.?" As I started encountering the technical hurdles that resulted from that level of complexity, I started to see why, but now that I've navigated through those challenges and launched it, it's awesome to hear when people like it!
Thanks for the ideas about the blog, YouTube channel, and PPC & YT ads. I think those are good ideas, so I'm going to start writing out a game plan on those fronts. I recently added articles to the site (findmeacard.com/articles), and created a YT channel the day I wrote this PH post (for the sake of this post's video), so I suppose I have a little head start on some of those tasks.
@chris_einkauf Oh that's great you already got started on those things they'll take a little bit to gain traction. Not sure how familiar your are with SEO but I would invest in something like an Ahrefs or SEM Rush for keyword research or theres also mangools which I know is cheaper and a lot of people like. Or for free use google trends, just make sure to switch between "youtube search" and "web search" depending on if your researching for a video or blog. I would also make every blog a video and every video a blog. Sorry if this is already SEO stuff you know.
I would also look into budgeting softwares like Mint for affiliate programs, because that's another angle of products to recommend to people, "Don't know how much you spend on each category? Download Mint and find out"
@kit_fach Sorry for not replying earlier -- for some reason, I didn't notice your last comment until just now.
Thanks for the SEO keyword research and video/blog ideas. I've jotted them down on my task list to pursue. And thanks for the Mint affiliate suggestion as well. I hadn't considered that, but think it's a great idea. Any chance you might know a rough ballpark of what a site like Mint would offer in terms of the commission amount per new member registration? (I can't seem to find that info online.)
@chris_einkauf I don't know what they offer or if they have one, a couple other ones do I found an article that details them here: https://onemorecupof-coffee.com/...
But a lot of places will partner with you if you reach out to them once you have a certain amount of traction. Also if you build a relationship with affiliate managers you can usually get commissions raised to once you've shown results. Also if at any point you want any totally free affiliate marketing/ content marketing advice or just to review any of your content just shoot me an email at kit@wizrd.org
