Hey Product Hunt family! I’m so excited to finally share Beat by Filma with you all. A little backstory: a year ago, I quit my 9-5 to go all-in on my passions: music, coding, and content creation. During that time, I grew my TikTok audience a lot by doing ukulele tutorials, which was thrilling (and a bit surreal! 🤯). But I also found myself wishing for a simpler way to overlay automatically detected chords and lyrics on my daily videos - yep, coz if you want to grow on social media you must deliver every single day.
Lucky for me, I’d already built Filma (a modular video editor), so creating a “child” app laser-focused on music + AI felt like a natural next step. I poured my heart (and all my code skills) into making chord detection super accurate (ukulele, guitar, cuatro, and more!), plus automatic lyric captions that progress karaoke-style. For me as a musician, that meant cutting out hours of tedious editing and letting Beat by Filma do the heavy lifting.
Now, we have an MVP that’s already delivering amazing chord detection, super-customizable styles and even more features in the pipeline (piano overlays are coming!).
I’m beyond excited to see how other musicians, creators, and anyone who loves making fun clips will use it.
