Easier festival scheduling with your friends! Key features: - Simple, powerful scheduling experience - Create groups and view aggregate schedule data in one place - Tracks recent schedules you've viewed
Hey everyone! Just wrapped up the v1 of FestiPlannr, and I'm excited to share. This tool aims to make planning out music festival schedules with friends a more streamlined experience than it is today.
Having heard stories from friends about how they plan their schedules and having gone through this process multiple times myself, it felt like there were still some unmet needs from existing tools:
1) There's an important difference between indicating which artists you'd generally be interested in seeing and which artists you HAVE to see. 2 states (ie "interested" or not) feels insufficient — there has to be at least another state to help users fully express their intent.
2) A core part of this experience is sharing who you want to see with others. Creating your own schedule is fun but sharing your schedule/viewing schedules shared with you has to be as lightweight an experience as possible. There shouldn't be any additional steps required beyond copying a link and clicking on it.
3) On top of #2, viewing data across multiple schedules in aggregate is incredibly useful for actually planning with others, so there should be an easy way to capture this info in one place.
I built FestiPlannr to address these needs, but beyond that, I just like building stuff. Working on this project has been a fantastic experience and I'm excited to keep making it better. Should you end up checking it out, I'd love to hear what you think — thanks!
@famousjenga This is such a cool idea 😎 My girlfriend and I are always struggling to decide which artists we want to see. This will at least make the planning a lot easier, maybe even the decision making 😅
How do you curate the festivals at the moment? Do you manage the content yourself? It would be nice if community members could also submit festivals to start planning and sharing directly.
Congrats on the launch 🚀
@crebuh Thanks Christofer! The data ingestion process is still definitely pretty manual; crowdsourcing is a great goal to work towards — I’ll see if I can incorporate that into the platform!
Congratulations on wrapping up the v1 of FestiPlannr, @famousjenga! It sounds like a fantastic tool for music festival enthusiasts. The pain points you've identified about scheduling and sharing artist preferences resonate with many in the community.
I love how you've thought about extending the current options for expressing interest in artists—having multiple states is key to better communication among friends. The emphasis on a lightweight sharing experience is also spot on; nobody wants to jump through hoops just to coordinate plans, especially at a busy festival!
The ability to view aggregate schedules is a game changer for group planning and I'm sure many users will find that incredibly helpful. I can't wait to see how the tool evolves and what future features you’ll bring to the table. Best of luck with the launch, and I’ll definitely be giving it an upvote and checking it out! Keep up the great work!
