Farms That Are Delivering is a database of 1,376 farms that are delivering during COVID-19. With 30+ filters from organic to humanely-raised to halal/kosher, you can find exactly what you're looking for or something you've never had before.
When my friend Jason and I and the rest of the nation went into lockdown, we were having trouble finding meat and produce.
To help people in the same boat, we created a database of farms that are delivering during the pandemic. So far, we've added 1,376 farms by hand. You can filter by organic, humanely-raised, halal/kosher, and 25+ other filters and we are in the process of adding women-owned, black-owned, and related filters.
We're especially proud of the filters because, as we added farms, we also learned how much misinformation there is around the food we typically buy, e.g. for Certified Organic food, farmers can still use pesticides/fertilizers that you probably don't want to eat and free-range doesn't mean what producers want you to think it means. Going straight to the source reduces that problem.
Samin Nosrat, the host of Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat on Netflix, said this about us: "Two lovely guys built [this to] help you connect with local farms that will deliver, wherever you are in the country...This is such a fantastic way to get the freshest possible ingredients while supporting small- and medium-sized farmers."
Honestly this is the best idea and website ever created. It was simple to shop, makes meal prepping easier, and makes it easier to keep track of spending. Plus, it was the tastiest and freshest meat I've ever had. The meat from grocery stores and other companies that deliver were nothing compared to how delicious and fresh the meat was from my local farm. Thanks so much for creating and sharing this website with the world!
Loving the product so far! Good job team. I wish you guys were able to actually have a catalog of the products + pricing on your website though.
I've noticed that some of the farms that I click into require me to "sign up" before seeing prices which I find annoying.
@bernardjhuang Thanks Bernard! We're about to launch "Featured farms" which is a curated selection of farms that go above and beyond like pork shepherded through forests in the Rocky Mountains or raw milk cheese aged in a cave. You'll be able to buy directly from these farms on Farms That Are Delivering.
