Do you have upcoming exams? Going to visit another country soon? Need to remember a whole lot of information? That’s what Everycards is for. Create flashcards and quizzes. Study cards to memorise all you need. Use text, photos, drawings and audio recordings.
Some people ask how Everycards is different from Quizlet. Here it is:
QUIZLET
• This is primarily a website. They store your data on servers. It is not private, so it is not suitable for the military and James Bonds.
• No internet — no Quizlet unless you’ve purchased Quizlet Go.
• Images and sounds. To use them, you need Quizlet Plus.
• There is no way to conveniently use additional information to understand the context.
• Bilingual. You need to have a separate set of cards for each language pair.
• Strange support for dark mode and large fonts.
• As you study, you must grade each card "do I know it well."
• Quiz answers are selected by a primitive algorithm, it is not effective for learning.
• Premium as a subscription.
EVERYCARDS
• This is an app for iPhone/iPad. Everything is stored only on your device. No registration required. Suitable for the military and James Bonds.
• No Internet? There is Everycards.
• Images and sounds can be used in the basic version (£0.99). And for £12, take photos, draw on cards and record audio — without leaving the app! + a bunch of other features.
• There are additional slides for synonyms and other context understanding.
• Multilingual. One set of cards for all languages, just like Google Translate.
• Amazing support for dark mode and large fonts.
• You can mark the learned cards, but you don’t have to.
• You create answers for the quiz yourself. It is more effective for learning.
• A unique function of creating game levels (in order for it to be as in Duolingo).
• Premium is not a subscription, but forever.
And more. Everycards albums are just files. They can be send to someone as easily as photos or documents. And if you are a teacher or a designer, you can sell them online.
Everycards has been a game changer for my studies. Its user-friendly interface has made it incredibly easy to use and helped me retain information more efficiently.
Thanks for your feedback Bogdan.
Yes, there is a missing spaced repetition feature.
It was my intentional decision because I wanted to focus on building sustainable architecture before moving further. Many apps on the market have spaced repetition feature, for example Anki. But the problem is that it is tricky to use for the majority of people.
We are working to make the spaced repetition usable. Don’t switch and follow the ads :-)
What other features are you missing? Please let me know.
We have added a table on the Everycards website that compares it with the competitors. There you can choose which app suits you better at the moment.
