Our remotely only jobs board is focused on developers and companies hiring them at this moment. We feel we can try and educate employers on the importance of being transparent in job postings by encouraging salary expectations and interview processes.
Hey Everyone 👋
My name is Nick and I'm a UX designer based in Manchester, UK.
As a remote designer, and along with my friend Tom, a remote developer we were keen to focus on a remote job board JUST for developers.
Reason being, is we would sign up to a job board and then would get email alerts containing jobs that were of no relevance to our skill sets, or that weren't transparent enough for us to commit to. (eg, a remote job that wants you onsite 3 days a week, no thanks!)
This is where we felt we could improve something for people in our situations! We dont want to just be a job board, we have plans to be more than that. We want to help developers find jobs, we want to guide and help recruiters understand what a developer looks for in a role, we want to be the go to place to help developers find jobs.
We've spent a decent amount of time building this and it's very much the early stages, but we'd love to get more feedback on how we can improve!
Also every week we will be sending you the best jobs from the week matching your skillset.
We would love to hear any feedback you may have, and ways to improve the site! ✌️
First of all, love this approach to help developers find their next job or even their dream job! The site has been well designed and developed throughout which makes it easy for the user to navigate when looking for new job postings.
Some minor feedback:
- Job postings only show salary in USD, might be nice to see the relevant currency to the country depending on where the user/candidate is based
- Contact us - takes you to Gmail at the moment. Not that there is anything wrong with this but when people usually go to the contact page they are looking for certain information first before they contact you. What might be nice is to create a landing page with info and then a CTA for the user/candidate to contact you directly
- Testimonials - They are quite low on the page, it would be great to see these featured higher up to stand out more. You want to give the reason why your site has more value than other remote job websites
- Job alerts at the bottom - No info here on GDPR - People may want to opt out at some point
Hey Rachel - thank you so much for taking the time to provide us some really useful feedback. We will definitely add these to our notion board on things to improve :)
