The Electricity Map shows where you electricity comes from and how much CO2 was emitted to produce it. All of this is shown as close to real-time as possible, in order to take into account the fluctuations of wind and solar production.
Our vision is to quantify the CO2 emissions of our everyday actions. We started with electricity, and wanted to bring transparency and facts to a too often distorted reality.
This project is open source. We hope to grow the community, and add more countries as open data gets accessible. Let's map the world together!
