Hey PH! My name is Max 👋, and I previously co-founded Push For Pizza 🍕 We developed DreamCard as a side project a few months back, after being inspired by the Square Cash Card, some hacking, and inspiration from other great builders, we threw together a really cool new way to turn your debit card into metal. I am pleased to say, we have sold thousands of cards to date, and many of our customers have converted their entire wallets into DreamCards, we are now moving into a more public beta. I’m sure I will get a lot of questions around the safety of this, and legality, so i’ll just address some of those here: Is this safe? Yes! We provide you with a prepaid mailer to go to our secure box in San Jose, CA. This facility has previously been used to handle and process sensitive information, and for safety purposes, we will never disclose the actual address to anyone outside of our converting team 😃. Once we receive the card, all of the information is simply transferred. We don’t store anything- so assuming you want another card (which most people do!) you have to begin the order process from scratch. How does the process actually work? Upon receiving the original card, we transfer the information from the mag strip to the new blank card. We also remove the chip from the original card, then we mail you back both cards. Within 72 hours of receiving them at our facility. Is this legal? Yes! We are completely compliant to the regulations of the “third-party-access” method that all debit and credit card issuers abide by. Users agree upon purchase that they are indeed the cardholder, and are allowing us the ability to destroy and transfer the information from the old card, to the DreamCard. All of the information from the original card transfers to the new card, we do not alter the name or information of the new card. Where do these cards work? If the card is really .7 ounces like the website says than this card is actually heavier than the Amex platinum card.
