Unlike traditional keyboards with their "one size fits... nobody" approach, DOTKey offers a user-friendly experience that adjusts to you instead of forcing you to adjust to it. Welcome to the 21st century.
This has one critical design flaw. People hold and type on their device with one hand, more specifically one thumb! This would ask people to hold and use their device in a completely different way.
@patarino while it’s true that DOTKey can’t be used that way, this is not a design flaw. Many people don't prefer to type on their phone with one hand anyway—they either two-thumb type, or hold their phone with one hand while typing with the other. Furthermore, let’s try to expand our vision to see the potential for DOTKey anywhere a person might encounter a touchscreen. Where DOTKey really shines is on devices with large screens such as tablets.
Currently, to type on a tablet you have to use the on-screen keyboard that can take up around half the screen or you have to buy a keyboard attachment that can be quite expensive. If you have an iPad, try out DOTKey inside a floating keyboard because it is truly amazing. You can literally move the small typing area anywhere in the screen so that you can still see almost the entire screen at all times.
Now imagine if the keyboard were also transparent. Since you don’t need to look at your fingers while you type, this is absolutely practical. You could literally have no obstructions to the screen while typing at professional speeds of over 65 wpm. DOTKey is revolutionary and could quite literally unlock limitless potential with how we interact with technology.
