Dokkio brings together all of your information - across cloud storage, shared docs, emails, messages, desktop folders, and the web. It uses AI to tag and organize content to match the way you work, search, collaborate, and more.
π Hey everyone, Iβm Matt from Dokkioβs Marketing Team. Thanks for checking out our Product Hunt post!
π£ How we got here
Dokkio started as a platform to bring all your cloud files together in one place.
Over time, βall your cloud filesβ grew to include email attachments, and then shared files in messaging tools like Slack and Teams. We added content in local Mac or Windows folders. And earlier this year, Dokkio gained the ability to capture the web pages you visit, and include them in the content you can search, tag and organize.
Thatβs valuable, because you probably have content stored in different places: Google Drive, Dropbox, Microsoft OneDrive, and more. And your colleagues share attachments in Gmail and Slack. You may even have several accounts for each - for personal vs work information, or to juggle several jobs. This explosion of tabs, and toggling between them to βget organizedβ, actually makes you less organized, and it saps productivity.
π€ Whatβs Dokkio AI?
Dokkio AI is our next big step to tackle the βdigital chaosβ- by harnessing the power of new advances in AI to dramatically expand Dokkioβs automatic tagging and organizing capabilities.
This new generation of generative AI and large language models is driving tools like ChatGPT and the current media hype about the impact and future of AI. For us at Dokkio, itβs a way to better understand βcontentβ in all its forms - files, documents, emails, images, web pages, screen shots, and more. Itβs about uncovering how different individual pieces of content are related to one another, and to the ways you organize your activity - whether itβs by Project, or by Topic or by Customer or Region, or all of those. Itβs about automatically figuring out whatβs important or relevant, and showing you that, instead of the βnoise.β
And itβs about doing all those things better today, as we launch Dokkio AI, and much better over the coming months.
Creating a Dokkio account is fast (it takes less than five minutes!), and Dokkio AI automatically organizes your content to match the way you work: by Project, or by Customer, or by Topic β whatever dimensions you need. One click gets you a complete view of a Project, for example, gathered from emails, files and documents. Another click pivots to a view of a key Customer. If youβre constantly juggling different priorities, Dokkio is for you.
Dokkio AI also knows the kinds of documents you typically use, and automatically categorizes new documents as they arrive - whether attached to an email, shared in Slack, or uploaded to storage providers like Dropbox. You can specifically search for a Resume, or Invoice, or Contract, for example, or ask Dokkio to show you all the recent Invoices, saving time.
New information and updates arrive constantly - as edits to online docs, or new files shared in Microsoft Teams, or email attachments. Dokkio AIβs information feed keeps you always up to date, no matter how changes arrive. Whether itβs checking the latest on a particular Project, or checking whether an expected document has arrived, Dokkio AI is on the job.
As you work, Dokkio AI gets smarter. It identifies companies (like customers or vendors) and people (like contacts or colleagues) from your content, and offers to add them. It suggests new tags and new ways to organize, based on your industry. Your simple yes/no responses quickly turns Dokkio into an intelligent assistant, adapted to the way you and your team work.
And Dokkio AI is also always available whenever you work in the browser. Dokkio Sidebar is a Google Chrome extension that takes the knowledge Dokkio has about your content and delivers it directly to your browser. It manages your tab chaos by mirroring searches on the web against your own content, summarizing any pages you visit using Dokkio GPT, tagging, bookmarking, and clipping pages as you browse, and making screenshotting and saving to Dokkio as easy as a single click.

π Some of Dokkio AIβs features
β Auto categorization - Instead of βthis is a PDFβ, Dokkio understands your documents as Resumes, Proposals, or Status Reports, etc., for filtering and searching.
β Auto tagging - Dokkio automatically tags your files to associate them with Projects or Customers or Topics that are important to you.
β Tag suggestions - Dokkio knows how people in your industry tend to organize their content, and suggests useful, relevant tags for you and your team.
β Image recognition - Dokkio uses image recognition to auto-tag your image files. If you use a tag βcarβ, for example, your photos and images of cars are automatically tagged.
β Image captioning - Dokkio uses AI to automatically caption your images for easier searching. Instead of 482947293.jpg, itβs βChildren on a beach with an Audi A8β
β Screenshot text recognition - Instead of previewing dozens of screenshots to find the one you want. Dokkio extracts the text, so you can find a screenshot based on their contents.
β Document & page summaries - Dokkio AI summarizes each document or page, so you can blast through web research or reports quickly, and focus on whatβs important.
β Related pages - When you view a web page, Dokkio shows you related pages youβve viewed. Thereβs no need to search for them; one click takes you there.

Hey Matt! Awesome Tool.
I'm wondering if there's any plan to integrate Dokkio AI productivity tools like Trello or Asana in the future.
also, where can I find your documentation to learn more about Dokko? Could only find a couple videos on the website.
@kensavage Thanks for the support Ken! Happy to share more.
The image captioning generates text descriptions of image files (which I personally find particularly useful for screenshots).
For instance, if you took a screenshot of an image on the web, instead the only data about that file being the name (which is probably something like "Screeenshot-09072023.png"), Dokkio AI actually recognizes and describes what's in the image, and captions it accordingly.
So if your image is of a picture of the beach, it might be captioned "A brown dog with three kids eating ice cream on the beach".
This caption is also fed into our search engine, so if you search for "beach" in your account, the image will surface in the results. Hope that helps!
If you have any other questions or feedback, you can always email me at matt.castaldo@dokkio.com :)
@vishalreddy21 Hi Vishal -- we certainly plan on integration with both Trello and Asana in the future. If you have a vision for how you'd like to see that integrated, we'd love your feedback! You can email matt.castaldo@dokkio.com
For documentation, we do have more videos on our YouTube channel -- but the product recently had a facelift, and we're working on getting more content built for that. If you'd like a (free!) demo or help getting set up, you can sign up on our website by selecting "Book a demo" under the resources tab.
Thanks for the support!
We stumbled upon Dokkio last week when searching for something just like this. Love it so far and trying to get the hang of it. Agree would love a future integration with Asana and potentially other apps like Evernote, Notion, etc. Really love it though and solved a pain point for us. Excited to see it continue to improve and grow as a product.
Thank you @caneelian. Yes! We do have more integrations on the roadmap. We're tracking user requests at onboarding (there's an option to request a provider) to help guide us and the ones you mention are on our radar. As you explore the product, don't hesitate to send us your feedback.
Excellent app! Great with assisting with locating files and folders. I've been using it for over a year and couldn't be happier. The features just keep getting better!
Hey Matt and team! ππ»
Just gave it a spin and I'm impressed. The auto-tagging feature is a game changer for digital organizations. One tiny suggestion: maybe consider more intuitive onboarding for newcomers? But seriously, stellar job. This feels like a tool I didn't know I needed until now. Kudos! πππ
