Hi hunters! 👋 I’m Dave. I’m an independent app developer who creates apps for iPhone, iPad, and Mac. I’ve created an app called Discretion that’s all about giving you the power to take control of your privacy when sharing photos. Sharing photos on social media can be tricky when it comes to privacy. It’s easy to accidentally share too much personal info, even if you’re careful. Just one slip-up can mean you end up giving away something you’d rather keep to yourself. Discretion comes to the rescue with anti-data snooping and tracking protection features: 🔎 Personal and tracking metadata removal, including: date/time, GPS and other location data, equipment, software, and OS details. 📦 File format protection: flattens PSD files, removes TIFF hidden file layers, and removes the Live Photo video component. 📛 Simplified filename: protects against data capture from verbose names or origin tracing from unique names. Sometimes, you want to share photos while protecting the identities of some of the people featured. Discretion provides face masking tools to help you achieve this: 🦾 Automatic or Manual face masking. 🔘 Professional flat masks: circular or rectangular; black, white, or grey. 🦁 Fun masks: Emoji, sticker, Memoji, or Genmoji masks. The sticker, Memoji, or Genmoji masks require an iPhone or iPad that supports Apple Intelligence. When you’re ready, you can share your photos from Discretion using the standard share sheet. This allows you to share your photos with any service that supports the share sheet for images. ✳️ All the standard privacy features such as flat face masking, metadata removal, and layer flattening are available for free in Discretion. ✳️ The emoji, sticker, Genmoji, and Memoji features, and batch processing are available as an in-app purchase named Complete Discretion (with a 7-day free trial).
