I’m thrilled to introduce you to a project we’ve been working on for some time now: a full-length documentary detailing the rise of design as a strategic advantage—allowing young startups to disrupt 100-year-old, billion-dollar industries.
In the film, you’ll meet the design disruptors—product designers from some of the most disruptive and significant products of our time—who are leading a design-driven revolution happening every day all around the world.
The film provides an intimate look into the processes, perspectives, and approaches of the product design and user experience (UX) leaders at Airbnb, Coursera, Dropbox, Etsy, Eventbrite, Evernote, Facebook, Google Ventures, HubSpot, MailChimp, Netflix, Pinterest, Salesforce, Spotify, Twitter, Xero, Zendesk, and more.
How do you think design is affecting business as we know it?
@clarkvalberg I watched this intro video 3 times! Twice yesterday and once this morning. I can't tell you how excited I am to watch this gem. This is why I get up every morning and am excited about the possibilities of design.
Looking forward to watching this, although I'm surprised to see InVision making their own film. Where'd the idea come from and what's the goal, @clarkvalberg?
@rrhoover Ever meet someone so interesting you wish there was a movie about them? Well, during our regular customer and industry interviews that seemed to keep happening time and time again. The story we saw emerge was much bigger than InVision, design tools, workflow, etc. It's about a seismic shift in the way organizations communicate with the world and themselves... So we started filming.
I think the power of some of my favorite documentaries is that they both rationalize and humanize a subject that may feel distant or even magical at first. With the whole world witnessing the transformative power of design, I think it's time we gave those practitioners leading the way an opportunity to bring us into their world.
@deysonortiz Absolutely FREE - we want the world to hear everything we did. We also plan to have free showings in film houses and many of the companies in the movie as well.
