Hello,
I am Omar, the creator of DELEGRAPH, an amazing all-new iOS app that I want to tell you about.
Delegraph is an app on a mission. And that mission is to empower citizen journalism by taking up the role of a people-to-people news agency.
Let me explain further.
As you are aware, when it comes to covering news nowadays, the general public extends a lot of help to news agencies through the videos and pictures snapped by them. However, there are always question marks on the coverage video’s or picture’s credibility. Plus, even if the visuals you send to the agency are authentic, not everything can make it to the screen because an agency may not choose to show it further.
Well, here comes Delegraph. An app that empowers everyone to don the mantle of citizen journalist, document the news around and show it to the entire world with assurance. Delegraph authenticates your videos and pictures with a watermark specifying time, date, location and reference no. With Delegraph’s watermark, your coverage bona fides are established beyond doubt.
With Delegraph installed on your phone, you can share your visuals and invite everyone’s opinions with confidence.
Let me go back a bit and tell you the inspiration behind Delegraph.
I am based in Amman, Jordan. As you know, the Middle East is nowadays a volatile region with wars, disasters and tragedies that get a lot of video coverage that is watched by everyone right in their homes all over the world. But how can these viewers be sure that what they are watching is for real? After all, media is becoming more technically sophisticated; news providers are also becoming more adept at manipulating images to suit their own agenda.
The time has come that people stop depending on a single source for news and instead compare different media sources before we judging the credibility of the news reaching on their phones, tablets and televisions.
I have created Delegraph to give this power to the people of the world, to make news documentation everyone’s prerogative.
I would love to know what you think of Delegraph.
Awesome work @hammouriomg, now most people carry a device that's capable of capturing moments it can still be difficult to spot what's real vs what's not. The explainer video is awesome, but I do have one question: how was the verification process work? Is that automated? How long does it take?
@gadgick Thank you for your interest , the verification only takes very few seconds or maybe fractions , its multistage process to verify but its extremely fast
