Hey PH!
It is my pleasure to introduce you to Dash, an experiment that came out of Late Checkout's studio.
Dash is a place for product designers to get hired at top startups.
How it works:
1. Subscribe on Dash.Careers
2. Receive a design challenge every other week via email
3. Complete the challenge
4. Get feedback from top designers
5. Top submissions get connected to leading startups
TLDR; complete the challenge, get feedback and get hired!
Dash is 100% free to use, and you own 100% of the work you complete in Dashes.
We want to give you an edge on your journey as a product designer by sending you industry grade briefs, giving you feedback on the challenges you complete, and referring you for jobs at top startups.
The work you complete is yours, and only yours, to use however you want. We encourage you to display it in your portfolio.
We feel that you could hone your skills and build your portfolio in isolation, or you could hone your skills and build your portfolio through Dash challenges where you have the potential to get hired at top startups. The choice is yours!
Let us know in the comments if you have any questions, comments, or feedback, and check us out on twitter @dashcareers.
Be well,
Greg Isenberg
@dashcareers@greg_isenberg Now a designer that's getting started shouldn't have any more excuses to build their portfolio. 🙌 Congrats on the launch and great idea!
@dragos_bulugean Thank you for the kind words! By building their portfolio through Dash, designers are exposed to industry grade briefs, feedback from experts, and opportunities at top startups!
Another use case this could solve for is experienced designers looking for critique opportunities. Would be a cool network effect of reviewers -> submitters.
@ryan_stone Absolutely! Sounds like Brian Lovin's Crit product which Ryan referenced above. Our goal is to help designers grow in their craft and career by exposing them to industry grade briefs, giving them feedback on their work, and connecting them with top startups. Would love to connect them with other, more experienced designers too!
Love the idea. Design is often digital native so something portfolio based like FreeCodeCamp makes so much sense for designers. Would have used earlier in my design journey if it existed!
@jamesstirrat Thanks Jamie! Totally agreed that using a tool like Dash or FreeCodeCamp to build your portfolio makes a lot of sense. We're building in network effects to help product designers get hired!
