Hello Hunters!
My name is Jin Young, and over the past month, I've been spending the majority of my time developing Daiv, an analytical platform for League of Legends (LoL) gamers.
As a CS student who's into data, I believe that patterns and trends have a lot of meaning, and this can also apply to gaming. With this mindset, I realized that many competitive and complex metrics aren't available to gamers so I wanted to make this accessible in an easy-to-view way.
What is Daiv?
Daiv is an analytical platform that helps to provide statistical insights to players who are wishing to improve on their gameplay. We aim to take advantage of data provided by League of Legends and use them to provide useful insights in an aesthetic and easy-to-understand way so you can see if you are improving in a specific metric or not.
Currently, Daiv.app supports the following features:
- Competitive Statistics – Other platforms do not show competitive statistics seen in pro plays. We wanted to bring the same value for you and support insights like DMG percentage, CS Difference @ 15, and more. (We're also looking into other useful data like gank success rate, so please put down what kind of data you want to see!)
- Filtering System – Being able to filter your data (by win/loss, queue type, map type) and see specific trends were very important to us and this was one feedback we received.
- Visual Graphs – Seeing your metrics in a visual way is something we believe in as it allows us to see trends or patterns we haven't been able to see through numbers. An easy-to-see interactive graph has been implemented that accommodates change in real-time.
What's next for Daiv?
- More useful filters – We also want to be able to filter our data by role as specific insights apply to specific roles – this is currently next in line for the next update.
- Average statistics/metrics of a user's tier – we want to be able to display average metrics of a user's tier so you can see how well you are doing relative to where you are at. We are currently finding an efficient way to collect a mass amount of match data available and store it in our database.
- Providing actionable suggestions regarding metrics – If the above feature has been implemented, we hope to use statistical analysis and machine learning with the data collected to potentially offer actionable suggestions regarding your metrics in the platform.
- And hopefully, many more...!
Although we realize this is a niche application, we'd love to hear feedback as this app is a work-in-progress – constructive criticism from many people helped us realize what the platform was lacking (and we realize we still have a lot to work on), and if you have any questions, feel free to ask.
Stay tuned for the upcoming updates 🚀 and thanks for taking the time to read this!
