Curaturae is a 'writing tool' that connects your words to images from Smithsonian's collection of 3M+ artifacts. Type something (a poem, song, or message) and the app responds with images inspired by your words.
Inspired by the experience of visiting the museum, Curaturae ties state of the art language syntax and translation technologies to recently digitized, opened, and searchable art objects in a unique user interface. This prototype was made during a 10 week grant from the Cooper Hewitt Design Museum in New York City. What ideas came to mind when using this? Did Curaturae change how you think about writing? Did you run into any problems? Your feedback will help take this prototype and polish it into an MVP.
