A native, CoreML driven MacOS app that can label and caption photos. Does not use cloud services and everything is done locally on your Mac. Includes advanced models for labeling nature photos (birds, flowers, insects, diving, etc) at the species level.
Helps me label species of animals and plants that I'd otherwise need to spend hours, copy-pasting into web image search tools. It also does higher level concepts (like "plant", "person", "happy", "smiling") to help keyword photos so that they're easier to retrieve later on. At the top end, it can even generate titles and descriptions, all without cloud services. It keeps your photos on your machine and can also be substantially faster without the need to transfer files. It's also free.

It depends on which category. Flowers/Leaves are fairly accurate (~80% range), many of the birds, insects, fungi are in the 65% range, and amphibians/reptiles in the 55% range. That across a broad population, so depending on how lesser-known, the accuracy could vary dramatically. Thanks to iNaturalist, lots of new data is always coming in, so the models are always improving.
Wow, @eshieh, this sounds amazing! The fact that it's all done locally is a huge plus for privacy and speed. I can't believe you’re able to label species at such a detailed level; that must save so much time. Plus, the ability to generate titles and descriptions? Genius! Can't wait to give it a try and see how it works with my nature photos. Keep up the great work!
