Countercyclical is your all-in-one research platform for performing extensive due diligence, building robust valuations, and running every part of your company's investment process.
This sounds intriguing! Can you elaborate on how Countercyclical streamlines the investment process? Are there specific features that support due diligence and valuation that you think are game-changers? Also, how does it compare to other platforms in terms of user experience (UX)? Would love to hear more!
@dance17219 Absolutely! Thank you for the questions - when users work in Countercyclical, they will go through what is effectively the 3 majors steps in every research lifecycle:
1) Researching (e.g. asset discovery based on investable criteria),
2) Building (e.g. financial models and valuations), and then
3) Sharing (in the form of analyst reports or investment memos)
Countercyclical supports these three steps with our robust Search functionality for quickly surfacing actionable ideas that fit an individual's or team's criteria, Investments and Valuations for the Building phase to perform deep due diligence on those assets in real-time with your team + the ability to craft models and valuations based on certain scenarios, and then finally our Memos features to complete the Sharing step, where users can take the artifacts they produce in the Researching and Building phases and incorporate them into internal investment memos that drive portfolio decisions or as an external analyst report that's part of a company's broader research focus.
No longer are research teams conducting their due diligence in isolation when they're on Countercyclical. Instead, they'll tap dance through each of these three phases without the friction of having to context-switch between their legacy research management systems, analytics and modeling applications, communication channels, and word processing tools.
By having the entire scope of a professional research team's work bundled into a single, cohesive platform, we offer features like Valuations - which allow users to spin up DCF models in a few clicks instead of a few hours/days. By leveraging the power of real-time collaboration, leaving comments on charts and tables now becomes easier than ever to surface unique perspectives thanks to Countercyclical.
Regarding your question on UX, one of the core focuses we place attention on at Countercyclical is design & craft - making products that feel as good as they work should be an ideal for builders to shoot towards. As such, going through each of the three phases mentioned above is seamless and repeatable across as many assets as a company so wishes to research.
Thanks again for your questions, I hope this answers them!
Congrats on the launch , @mbasitmehtab ! Countercyclical looks like a solid tool for streamlining due diligence and valuations . Excited to see how it boosts investment workflows !
@kyrylosilin Thank you for the question, Kyrylo - we do support integrating with other financial data providers (available mainly through our Enterprise plan)! We currently work with amazing data vendors that send world-class data right into Countercyclical, but we're always working with other companies to make sure we can bring our users a truly one-of-a-kind financial research experience, and that starts with the data you can incorporate yourself. Please feel free to send us a message at feedback@countercyclical.io if you have any recommendations for systems we should integrate with next! Thank you for the kind words & for supporting Countercyclical 😄
As a public markets analyst I would say this is a far more intuitive tool than Bloomberg or CapIQ. Makes it easier to benchmark portfolios and potentially reverse-engineer theses which is honestly something most platforms bury under layers of noise. My main recommendation however is that the team should build a tab for management's outstanding guidance from the latest earnings call or 8-K as well as any longer-term investor targets they've established at the most recent Investor Day. Those are the go-to metrics that both sell-side and buy-side anchor to and thus are most helpful for investors to reference following post-earnings digestion.
Thank you for reviewing Countercyclical, Farhan! Your feedback means a lot, and I'm happy to research this more/see if it's something the platform intends on supporting in the future.
Please feel free to follow Countercyclical on X/Twitter or LinkedIn along with keeping an eye on Countercyclical's changelog for future updates. I hope you have a great rest of your day!
