Find and save recipes, plan meals, get shopping lists and nutrition. You can also create recipes, record cooking videos, livestream cooking, and even engage in online cooking lessons.
Hi everyone! I am a new member of the Product Hunt community and I'm pleased to share a project I've been working on for the last year as a freelance developer. This app (CookIt) is a recipe/meal planner app that lets you find and save your favorite recipes, plan meals, get nutrition and shopping lists for recipes. You can also save recipes you find online for easy access. On top of that, if you are someone who really loves cooking, the app also allows you to create your own recipes, upload short cooking videos, engage in cooking lessons (between any two users who would like to teach/learn how to cook a recipe), and livestream cooking. The app has a lot of functionalities and I hope those of you who enjoy cooking find a helpful resource and community. Anyone who's tired of ordering from food delivery or eating out and wants to start cooking your own meals please check this app out!
Congratulations on launching CookIt! It sounds like a great way to make meal planning and cooking easier. What features of the product are you most excited about?
@rana_phool thank you for your interest! Here are some highlights:
1. Most existing recipe apps focus on either recipes or meal planning, ex they provide recipes but not a meal planning service (or provide it for a premium) or meal planning but no recipes. I hope my app makes planning more convenient for users since they can find recipes to put on a meal plan directly in the app instead of using two separate apps (one for recipes and one for meal planning).
2. This app provides nutrition info and shopping lists for free while other apps often ask for a premium.
3. App allows users to review recipes and upload cooking videos which provides more user engagement.
4. Conduct cooking lessons through the app. This is still in the early stages. Two users (teacher and student) can conduct a lesson cooking a certain recipe virtually through the app. The teacher decides the price which the student pays.
5. Users can livestream cooking. This feature probably won't be significant until more users start using the app but feel free to try it out and let me know what you think.
