👋🏾Hey everyone! I'm Isaac, the Indie Founder (thanks @corey_gwin) behind Conduit. I'm super excited to be launching here today! 📖The story Just 7 months ago, I was working as an Associate PM feeling frustrated with how engineering teams were being spoonfed requirements. So I quit my job, enrolled in Lambda School, and have been hacking away on Conduit for the last 12 weeks. 🤔The why There's a lot of issue management tools, but very few to help teams decide what to build and why they're building it. The tools that do exist are designed for PMs, while I believe that "product" is a thing that the company does rather than a single function. 🚀The journey While there's been incredible progress on Pioneer (https://pioneer.app), I realise how dangerous it is to build this in isolation. So I'm deciding to launch early to gather real feedback. ❓The ask Very much still in beta, but any feedback is welcome. Particularly interested in how to make this more appealing to self-managed engineering teams. Congrats on the launch I think it's a very bold statement to say that all other product management tools suck (which your message implies) - especially for a completely new tool. Also i could not find out what makes Conduit better than the competition. What's the value of your product? Customers certainly want more than buying a tool that does not suck. It's also the very nature of every product managment tool to help deciding what to build next isn't it?

@rentschmarkus Hi Markus, thank you so so much for this feedback and your challenge. I admit that the landing page text is purposefully tongue-in-cheek, and that Conduit still has enormous room to grow to be better than competing solutions. In it's current state, the value from Conduit is that it closely integrates product feedback from the "Insights" channel with product planning in the "Products" channel. It's ambition, however, is to decentralise product management from being an activity reserved for Product Managers and/or correct bad product management behaviours. Current thoughts on how to do this are through encouraging visibility of work without too much granularity, on making everyone an "owner" (i.e. if an insight is linked to a certain Task, then only the Task owner and Feature owner are notified, not the Product owner), and encouraging unified agreement on what's "important" - which is where the "Impact" scoring still has a lot of room for growth. That said, I've been building this in a silo so I'm really interested to hear your thoughts on what could make Conduit more valuable to you if you were willing/had the time 😀

@isaac_aderogba Integrating product feedback from the insights channel with the product planning from the product channel itself does not have value on its own. But if you can prove that products become better (for at least some) when a decentralised product management approach is used and explain why then you will easily differentiate from the competition. Another little challenge: Why do you share the idea behind your tool here but not publicly on your website? Making it more valuable to me would be quite tough as i don't have a product (yet).

✨ I've been using Conduit for nearly a month now. It's magical, super-simple and it's already impeccably polished. Here's how I use it. 1. I gather feedback and feature requests from customers. Right now, I enter the insights manually but I'm excited that I can allow my customers to enter it themselves and vote on them. I'll be adding this to my app soon. 2. I funnel the insights into tangible features and actionable tasks. 3. I organize the features and tasks into releases. 💜 It's really that simple. None of the red-tape and bloat associated with some other tools. I've finally got a handle on product management and planning. Final note: Isaac's progress on Conduit has been relentless. I'm blown away when I reach out with a suggestion and the next day he emails me to tell me it's done!
