What do you think? …

Rajat Kulkarni
How do you see this to be different from coolors.co? Since the generate looks like it
Bereket Semagn
@rajatkulkarni95 Hey, Rajat! coolors.co is using an inefficient way to generate colors, when the spacebar is pressed instead of the palette changing, the URL does too which is a headache and can be confusing, etc. However, our generate, no URL is changed and you can use all of it just by clicking your spacebar or pressing refresh, there are also things that we have/that are better that coolors.co doesn't.

@rajatkulkarni95 @dustininfinity I'm going to be critical here, so excuse my tone, big suggestion for the future Bereket, don't take downsides of your software and ignorantly spin them as features. The URL changing on Coolors isn't some downfall of their technology, it's a feature that allows you to share your colour palette. Something that is currently impossible with your website. Coolors also allows you to lock colours in order to prevent losing your progress. On Colortopia you have to refresh each individual colour you don't like rather than locking the ones you do. Also Coolors does have a spacebar feature. This isn't an advantage of your website. Listen, I'm all for innovation, which is exactly why you have to do just that. If you want to take Colortopia beyond the scope of a side-project/resume piece, and more into the realm of a useful tool that designers will use, you'll have to make it better than the alternative. Calling Coolors "an inefficient way to generate colours" is flat-out wrong and quite rude to the makers who share this community with you. It has significantly more features than yours. You're not going to be able to innovate if you get complacent. If you want to go the extra mile, find designers that specifically use Coolors, ask what they feel is missing, and add it to yours. That will give you an advantage.

What kind of logic is driving the "scheme generator"? These seem to just be randomized selections of colors -- not actual palettes consisting of complementary colors.
