CloudAvocado is healthy for your AWS workload & cost optimization. Connect the dots across AWS accounts & business units, get insights about unused or underused resources, and cut costs by 30-70%
Hello, Product Hunt community!
I also would like to thank our CloudAvocado team and our hunter @kevin. Our team has worked hard to get to this point and I’m excited to reach this milestone.
My name is Calvin Martin and I’m the co-founder of CloudAvocado. We have been building this application over the past two years with our team members Andriy Pyshchyk also a co-founder and Oleksandr Tolochko who is our application architect.
With CloudAvocado we would like to think we’re going to bring the sexy back in saving money, but we know that avocados aren’t necessarily all that. So we’ll instead be happy if we can reduce your costs and simplify the management of your resources in the cloud.
We created CloudAvocado for several reasons.
* As a Software Developer I understand how cloud resources can be abused either accidentally or on purpose.
* Resources running 24/7 when they are only used during the work week during working hours.
* Orphaned resources either by not removing dependencies.
* As a former Software Development Manager I understand managing resource allocation can be painful. Also controlling cloud costs was a challenge.
* Identifying resources owned before an employee departure from the company
* Resource management and visibility was impossible.
From my previous work at a much larger Software company I could see the value of a product that would solve the above mentioned problems and also be scalable to the enterprise, where you can manage the application or create reporting by business unit, department or by teams.
Happy to launch our product here at Product Hunt and to offer you 40% off for the first 3 months. Thank you for your support and feedback!

Hello, Product Hunt community!
First I want to say thank you to @kevin. Our CloudAvocado team is very grateful for hunting our product and for supporting us along the way.
Who are we?
My name is Andriy Pyshchyk, I'm a co-founder of a start-up CloudAvocado. For about 2 years, Calvin Martin, Oleksandr Tolochchko, and I have been working on a tool that would not just make your Amazon cloud journey easier, but help you enjoy it – while ensuring efficiency.
What do we do?
We built CloudAvocado – a healthy choice for your AWS workload & cost optimization. It helps you manage all AWS accounts in one environment, and gives insights and recommendations on accelerating cost efficiency. It’s all about reasonable workload & cost management.
We’re proud to launch CloudAvocado at Product Hunt today and we’d appreciate your support, comments, and feedback! As a thank you, we would like to offer you 40% off for the first 3 months, click here to subscribe – https://cloudavocado.com/promo/p.... Free trial is also available!
Why CloudAvocado?
Being a software developer myself, I liked Amazon Cloud for its elasticity and opportunities it provides. Yet it was challenging to make most out of AWS to meet the business and market needs of my clients while staying within the budget. That’s why we built CloudAvocado to solve real user business scenarios. We designed functionality to solve each challenge that we had from reporting to tagging & scheduling. Connecting the dots across all the AWS resources and business units, CloudAvocado not only helps with the AWS management routine but also provides reasonable and actionable recommendations on increasing efficiency of your cloud cost.
Many thanks to all of you for your support and interest in our product! If you have any questions or partner enquiries, please email me at andriy@cloudavocado.com, I’m more than happy to discuss the details.
Awesome. Congratulations on the launch @calvin_martin1@oleksandr_tolochko
Quick question: Typically, how much cost is CloudAvocado expected to optimize?
@oleksandr_tolochko@gauravgoyal_gg Good Question Gaurav. It's hard to say overall, and can be dependent upon what you are currently doing from a cost reduction perspective. For example some of the largest waste comes from having development resources turned on 24/7 instead of just turning them off when you're not working. We have a scheduler that you can use to turn off those resources when you don't need them and turn them on when you do. That alone can reduce your costs on your development resources by up to 70%. But we don't stop there it's also about making sure you're using the resources that you have and sometimes it's not so obvious to know which resources are underutilized or not used at all. We make these things obvious. One thing you can do is to try the product for free and see how you can make such reductions.
