I’m happy to show you Citywalki, a simple app that lets you immerse yourself in the vibe of cities from all over the world. You can take a virtual walk, drive or flyover in 140+ locations.
Why?
I love to get lost in a city, to just wander around and discover new places. I wanted to recreate that experience virtually, so anybody can experience it anytime with just a laptop or a tablet (works on a phone too, but it’s waaay better on a larger screen).
How it works
Navigating between locations is as simple as selecting one from a dropdown or typing the name of a city or country in the search field. When the UI is hidden, you can still navigate between video types or mute/unmute a video using the right-click menu (on desktop).
What’s next?
Currently I’m adding new cities every week. My plan is to have over 200 locations that you can explore on Citywalki and maybe one day in the future to have at least one city from every country. There is also a plan to extend the UI with some kind of music or radio streaming. I’m open to new ideas and feedback, so if you have something on your mind, type it below. I’d love to hear from you!
