Hey Product Hunt, Eli here We built Circa to solve a few problems for college students we found with existing social media. 1: It is difficult to meet people in college, especially given large class sizes, hybrid classes, and new and unfamiliar surroundings. 2: It's hard to find conversations relevant to your location. Your feed is often curated to show viral things and posts from friends in other cities, which is not helping the choices you need to make daily. 3: It's hard to find things to do from those that know the area best. Your feed is often an echo chamber of content that captures your attention but does not provide insight on where or what to do next. So we built a location-based online community for you to connect with students on or off-campus and join groups for topics you love, making it easier to make friends and find things to do nearby. Here's how it works - your home feed displays conversations up to 25 miles away. Every time you open Circa, the feed updates to show you conversations relevant to your location. You can filter your Circa feed to see more posts closer to you in a larger city. To join conversations related to your interests, switch to the Channels feed to view nearby groups. We even created a Circa Channel to converse with all users. You can tag your posts with questions, recommendations, events, and more to help others identify what the post is about.
