Trying to find art to help furnish my flat but always struggling looking at and finding new pieces. Would you ever add an option to purchase the art you show?

@adam_pritchard1 Hey, great question! That's actually one of the first revenue strategies we intend to pursue. (and a common request from our growing user base!) I'd expect a purchase option for prints later this year. That said, one of the reasons it didn't make it into our launch feature set is that we felt there was such a larger opportunity we were hoping to capture: creating a user experience of "collaborative curation" that was independently compelling enough to keep people coming back to art, even when they didn't have walls to fill at home. Like many people, I once had the relationship with art where I'd think about it pretty much only if (a) I moved into a new apartment, or (b) I saw an ad about a big upcoming MoMA exhibit. And once I finished decorating or the art show left town, I forgot about art until the next time. But that changed when I moved to San Francisco because an artist friend would invite me to gallery shows every few weeks. The first several trips left me uninspired, but after repeated exposure I grew first a familiarity, then an appreciation and understanding, and eventually an enthusiasm and love for art. I discovered amazing stories and beautiful work that spoke to me in ways deeper than I could've imagined, especially as someone who always felt that "art" was a little foreign/inaccessible. And we feel it really comes down to an accessibility problem. Only 24% of American adults went to an art museum in the years before COVID. Now that number may be less than 8%. And that's due to any number of social, economic, or geographic barriers. It can feel daunting to jump into art, and even if the interest and means are there, sometimes it takes just a little too much time or effort to seek out art - let alone knowing where to start. We hope that Choice is quick, easy, and fun enough to introduce art into the fringes of our users' daily lives. They'll see a lot of art, with no wrong answers about their preferences and no one looking over their shoulder wondering if they're liking the "right" stuff. And over time we're sure they'll start to see things they recognize and styles that they're drawn to. Which at the end of the day, will help you know exactly the pieces that will fit your space and aesthetic. :) Thanks so much for the question, Adam, and hope you end up checking us out (and eventually buying a print or two!)

Hello, friends. A few of us spent quarantine working on a new project that’s near and dear to my heart, and I’m thrilled to let the good people on Product Hunt know that we’re now available for public access. Choice is a mobile app that makes it fun and easy to discover new art. Whatever your experience-level, tastes, or background, you’ll see fresh art that'll make you think, make you feel, and maybe even make you lean back and say “whoa”. It’s like social media, but without the stress of creating your own posts. Instead, Choice seeks to celebrate the curator in all of us. Swipe through a personalized, endless stack of art cards (think Tinder, sans the pick-up lines). Every 20 swipes left or right earns you a “choice”, which can be redeemed to either promote your favorite content or upload new art. If your “choices” are well-received, you’ll see your audience for subsequent “choices” automatically grow. In this way, you can grow your influence on Choice simply by sharing great art (and without ever asking for followers). For artists who balk at self-promotion, it’s a fast and easy way to build community and be seen, and also share what inspires and speaks to them. Additionally, many users find the swipe experience to be therapeutic and the pure focus on art to be refreshing. For them, Choice is the fastest and easiest way to deepen a connection with art and escape from the daily humdrum of life. If you’ve ever thought, “it’d be cool to know a little bit more about art”… or if you’re an artist looking to deepen your influences and find inspiration… or if you’re merely hoping for a better alternative to social media doom scrolling… we think you’ll find something special on Choice. So download the app to find your next favorite artist, support new "up-and-comers", and connect with others who share your tastes, all while growing real knowledge and influence in the art world. We're growing fast and just started running a weekly artist contest, where the top three artists on Choice split a $350 cash pot. You can have a say in which up-and-coming artist picks up a prize! I hope you’ll check us out, and I’m super interested in your thoughts and feedback! Look forward to connecting right here on Product Hunt, and thanks in advance for your time. 🙌

@marcin_skrzynski Hey, thanks for your feedback! We're just getting started and felt that the simplest way to authenticate your account was by receiving a code via SMS. No need to remember passwords or be dependent upon third-party auth. But I totally get where you're coming from. If it's helpful to know, we won't use your number for anything other than sending you a code to login!
