I'm Felipe co founder of Cero. Back when I was a practicing dentist I was really frustrated about how hard was to communicate with my patients to coordinate appointments. Its a little bit of a crossroad, because I didn't want to disturb my patients too much with confirmations or other stuff on the phone but also I didn't want to be left doing nothing because my patients did not show up....
I knew it had to be a better way to coordinate medical attention.
After a couple failed intents to solve this, I meet my co founders, Jorge, an AI scientist, and Mauricio, who was completing his PhD in Data Science. Working on a weekend project, Jorge and Mauricio managed to automate the communication with high-school students attending a summer school using instant messaging. The students engagement was incredible: more than 90% started a conversation and happily answered questions about the classes.
With my knowledge about the healthcare industry and Mauricio and Jorge's knowledge about the technology, we managed to build a service that helps healthcare providers to easily contact patients with zero friction by providing them a natural and easily-accessible automated communication channel that feels just like human. I actually tested the prototype with my patients and it worked like a charm!
Our Product
We build automatic agents to solve specific communication touch points from appointment confirmations, preparations for exams, and medical referrals, to waiting list coordination, last-minute rescheduling, and medical follow-ups. At Cero we aim to be seamlessly available throughout the entire patient journey.
The experience for patients is 100% transparent with zero friction, as we communicate with them in a natural and friendly way, using popular messaging apps in Latin America (such as WhatsApp), and in local Spanish.

Why are we doing this?
With increasing pressure to improve access to care in developing countries, optimizing communication with patients is a key task to achieve. This is a massive problem for the healthcare industry, specially in places where most people don't know how to effectively use self-service mediums (or are too busy to use them). Actually, almost half of the medical appointments in Latin America are missed because patients simply do not show up.
