I started Center Stage Hobby with close friends in the San Francisco Bay Area to help improve the sports and trading card community in 2020. We launched the Center Stage app in late October of 2021 and we'll pass over 4 million cards searched by users by the end of this month! The app is free to download and free to use, and we're hoping to add more features to delight every collector at every age and level. Thank you for checking us out!

@johnwie how did you get the dataset to train your search?
Ilya Baklanov
Most probably though tcdb.com or by parsing eBay (latter is a bit of a chicken and egg problem, but solvable). Tcdb is definitely easier

@chrismessina Hi Chris - as Ilya mentioned below, a lot of it was through public sites going through millions of transactions. We've reached agreements with some auction houses and marketplaces to gain access to more data (especially the high-end) in the collectibles space. We also have a great team of ML engineers helping us go through different models to improve the accuracy and a QA team guide it. Hope you've been able to test the product!

oh my. i just scanned a few of my cards. this is how it's done. you nailed it. its so freaking easy to look up a cards and the swiping to see alternates is so nice. it reminds me of actually holding a stack of cards and swiping through them. was that intentional? i have several thousand card from the early 80's , this is gonna make me get them out and scan because it so easy. thank you. i have needed this.

@kleerkoat thank you for the feedback! We have a team of top-notch UX designers and engineers making sure the experience is slick. We focused on enabling collectors to use one hand for the app to make it easy. Hope you find gems soon! We're releasing an update in the coming days to organize how the data is displayed, as well as some more features to help all collectors. Please stay tuned!
