Catadoo is a gamified todo-list that will make you want to finish your tasks while taking care of a digital cat. Think of it as a Tamagotchi Todo-list!

Hello everyone! Launching something new after such a long time and I'm so glad I'm doing it again! I had this idea back in 2017 (i was 17) when CryptoKitties first launched, I was awestruck by all the cool cats you could collect and since then I've been wanting to build a product that revolves around a cat. So back in 2019 I started playing around with gamification and decided to work on a project that had a similar concept (a gamified calendar and a digital pet) which ended up in my dead project cemetery. So this year I decided to give it another shot, I've tried multiple todo-lists and none of them seem to work for me. So i decided to build one from scratch, I really liked the idea of developing a bond with your horse in Red Dead Redemption 2 so I thought what if I do the same but with a todo-list? Lo and behold I started working on it couple of weeks ago and after soft launching it in a couple of places and getting people to use it, I'm finally excited to launch it here! This is a browser extension and it works on Chrome and any other Chromium browsers. Have fun taking care of your cat!

The UI looks pretty cool. For a second I thought it's todo-list for kids! Good luck.

@zoom_in thank you! Haha yea its meant to be playful and cute. Serious UI is boring :P

Cute! I love anything that reminds me of Tamagotchis tbh. Will you make a Firefox version? Btw, I’ve been wanting to use Otto since it was released, but I’m not switching to Chromium 😅
Joel Benjamin
@anna_0x afaik firefox doesn't support manifest v3 on top of which this extension is built. When they do I'll try to port it :)
Anna Filou
@iamnottheway hm I see. I don't know anything about making extensions, but when I Googled Manifest V3, the articles I came across were negative. For example: https://www.eff.org/deeplinks/20... https://grantwinney.com/what-is-...

@anna_0x yea Manifest v3 is pretty bad, especially from a devs perspective. Took me a long time to port Otto to v3 and it still doesn't work as expected due to using Service workers. And the deadline to move to v3 is the beginning of next year :(

@iamnottheway sorry to hear that! Wishful thinking on my part, but maybe it’d be easier to port to Firefox than to v3? Good luck in any case!
