Captain Stack is a VSCode extension, helps you to find snippets of code from StackOverflow right from your editor. You need to use VSCode Insider (the latest/non-stable VSCode). VSCode Insider is available at https://code.visualstudio.com/insiders/
Github CoPilot is still in early access and I am waitlisted. I found this alternative that uses StackOverFlow to find code snippets right in the VSCode.
Kudos to the Maker for making this so fast.
Thanks Harish for encouraging me to launch and hunting the product.
I'm not so sure about the future of programming but Copilot would be an interesting one. Too bad that inline completion isn't an official feature of VSCode, which this extension isn't allowed in the VSCode store yet.
Hope you have fun and let me know if you have any question or feedback
P/s: Captack Stack means you got help from captain Stackoverflow
Kudos!!! Github Copilot is said to be wider access end summer. I believe it doesnt test the code it suggests, as far as i understand it is being trained by early-access tech preview users ATM. (performance suggestions accepted dismissed) So Github Copilot does not use stack overflow as a database where as Captain Stack does?
@zurgun Thank you.
OpenAI has a huge database. I think they have the results from StackOverflow too.
Captain Stack is more like automating what devs sometimes do, which is searching for an answer on Stackoverflow. At the moment, I don't think it has the flexibility to do more than code suggestion/completion
