Hello Product Hunters! Have you been itching to try out DALL·E's amazing capabilities but don't have a ChatGPT Plus subscription? Or maybe you're searching for a dedicated app that lets you dive into DALL·E's image editing and variation features on your Mac?
I'm thrilled to introduce Canvas to you all! Canvas is an open-source, native macOS app I developed for everyone who wants to explore DALL·E's cool features. You just need your own API key, and you're all set to start creating and altering images. I've made sure it's really easy to use!
You can download Canvas and contribute to its development on GitHub here: Canvas Repository
@kevinhermawan does the 'generate variation' feature allow for uploading an image reference + a text prompt? The usecase I'm trying to cater to is: user draws a cartoon in a particular style, then wants to use DALLE to generate more cartoons (as described using text) but in the style of their original drawing. Thanks
@al_gordon Hi Ali, currently, DALL·E doesn't support combining an uploaded image with a text prompt for generating variations. However, once this feature becomes available in DALL·E, I'll look into integrating it into my app. Thanks for your question, and stay tuned for future updates! 🙌🏼
Hey Kevin! This sounds awesome! I'm curious, what inspired you to develop Canvas? How does it compare to other image editing apps out there? Can't wait to check it out! 🎨😊
@goyashy Hey Yash! I'm glad you're excited about Canvas! The inspiration behind developing it stems from my experience with DALL-E in ChatGPT+. While DALL·E is amazing, I found the rate limit a bit restrictive. I wanted more freedom to experiment with image editing and explore various creative possibilities. That's why I created Canvas – to offer a platform where we can play around with images without those limitations. 😃
