Meet our GPT, which links to your financial apps such as Cash App or Robinhood and can intelligently answer questions and perform actions all within ChatGPT. GPT's Capabilities: - Check your balances - Chat about your spending - Transfer $ - Buy / sell stocks
Hey PH! I'm Gary, co-founder of Candle.
OpenAI announced their GPT Store a few months ago during their dev day. It captured our imagination and got us wondering:
What if ChatGPT could manage my money?
Now, we're thrilled to share a sneak peek of what's possible today. We call it "Chat with your money.” It's a simple idea. You can ask your money questions or run actions all through ChatGPT.
Liam and I would love to hear your feedback and suggestions. In 12-24 months, ChatGPT will be even more powerful, enabling us to handle the majority of your queries and actions about your money :)
@f6ary The idea of a financial advisor and assistant in your pocket is a great one. But it seems that people are not ready to trust money to AI yet. You have a long way to go! Good luck!
?makers I thought LLMs were bad at math. If I were to ask how much I spent on groceries in Q1, could it fetch that info and do the arithmetic correctly?
@chrismessina Hey Chris, ChatGPT these days will actually write + execute Python scripts to solve math equations & algos. It can answer questions like your example accurately and even plot graphs and stats about your money & investments!
@chrismessina
Hey Chris! This works today with Cash App for your spending, I use it regularly (screenshot above). We're adding more connections & will have this be a default prompt in the GPT soon. I'm happy to keep you in the loop if you drop your email here: candle.fi/gpt
Our goal is to make the UX as simple and intuitive as asking a question and getting the result.
@f6ary did I miss the screenshot? I see different accounts, different stocks, and a list of purchases, but I'm not seeing spend categories aggregated. This would be particularly useful across many accounts.
@chrismessina Oops, good catch! I do this in the browser, but the result looks like this:
You can ask follow-up questions afterward, too. There's a limit to 1 month of spending, but that will be variable in the next update.
