Thanks so much for hunting, @chrismessina!
I was diagnosed with Stage IV Hodgkin's Lymphoma 2 1/2 years ago at age 28 and built this chatbot to help other cancer patients, their friends and families find resources that can make a huge difference in their lives. Shockingly, cancer resources are disaggregated and disorganized and most patients learn about game-changing resources via word of mouth from other patients. So, I built this chatbot to crowdsource discovery of awesome resources and to organize them in a way that's approachable, easily accessible and helpful for cancer patients, their friends and families. For our new friends checking out the bot, please share this with anyone you know who is dealing with cancer. We want to help them and also tap into the resources that they find helpful and make them discoverable and available for other patients. Thanks for checking us out and we are honored to be here!
And by the way, CancerChatbot is not just for cancer patients. We have a lot of tips and tricks for how you can help friends and loved ones fighting cancer. So, check it out even if you're not sick.
This is a powerful idea. Being able to rally around people in need is good for both parties. I recently visited a cancer center for a day and was amazed by the incredible humanity I found there. People were sharing ideas to fight, bonding over pain, and celebrating life. Nice work, my Grampa has fought off cancer 4 times - platforms like this will allow us to fight with those we love.
@kbclauson thanks so much for your kind words. I'm so pleased that you understand the motivation behind CancerChatbot and recognize what we strive to accomplish!
Jonno's story is incredible - he's overcome cancer and in the process, created a chatbot to enable others to fight the illness. Wish I could upvote this ten times.
