Hi ProductHunt! Levi here, a junior at Stanford (sorry I haven't dropped out because I actually love school and my classmates). Alex and I are both huge fans of local. We support indie musicians on Bandcamp, go to their shows or use Sofar Sounds to find the next music gig. We go out of our way to find the best coffee shops or restaurants that may be run by a couple who quit their job and chose to follow their passion. So when we see an outpouring of outcry from businesses and workers on Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn, with posts that pleaded the local community for support so they could put food on the table, stay current on their rent, and delight their neighbors when things go back to normal, we knew we had to do something. Especially given that the school has moved online (Zoom University lol), we actually had some extra time to build something that people want. Since there are a million ways to support local - whether it be purchasing gift cards, buying merchandise, calling to order delivery or takeout, using Patreon, GoFundMe or even Venmo - we wanted to simply connect patrons and their favorite small businesses, artists and freelancers and witness the magic happen from there!!
